I don't need to use that program to know that it is inferior to DPaint 4 AGA.
No paint app before or since has combined so much functionality into so few mouse/keyboard clicks.

You're using a tool but you want it to do the opposite of its primary behavior? Try using it with the right mouse button. No need for every tool to have its own separate opposite tool that has only single mouse button functionality!
I'm looking at you Photoshop and PSP.

How the guy that made the DPaint UI ended up birthing the monstrosity that is the 3D Studio UI is a mystery.
From perfection to - 'press a button and you get a teapot.'

DPaint was on the... Amiga?

That right-button-does-the-opposite thing is a really good idea! Left for draw, right for erase. Like the other end of the pen on my wacom thingy, except I never remember to use it, and hit E for the eraser instead.

Yah. Dpaint 4 can now be used on Win UAE (Windows version of Universal/Unusable Amiga Emulater) but it can only usefully do 256 colour stuff.
V5 can do 24 bit colour but is buggy (and sluggish on a real Amiga, no idea how it is on emulation).
It's no photo-editor, it's a pure pixel art creation prog. Every tool seems to have L/R button functions and Alt and Shift variations as well. You almost never mouse over to the toolbar.
Seperate color picker tool!? Most tools have that function as an Alt function. Switching tools just to change colour is what make PSP and Photoshop look like a joke.

PS: There really was an 'Eagle-in-a-barrel' plugin for Lightwave, made in order to mock 3DStudio's over the top primitives. It created an eagle. In a barrel...

Oh! I just remembered you could use multiple drawing tools together; you could use the airbrush tool with the circle tool and the line tool to create an encircled pentagram! Then alter the palette to make it a burning evil symbol!!! :D

I wrote an article describing the method and it was published in an Amiga magazine!

I'm getting used to the keyboard shortcuts in potatoshop, so the colour picker is just I (I-dropper) then back to whatever tool I was using. But I can certainly see how having it as an alt function would be better - sometimes I don't remember the shortcut key for whatever my previous tool was, so I still have to use the toolbar to switch back.

Eagle in a barrel!

Hopefully the next version will feature more animals inside more containers. I wonder if that could be turned into a meme. LOOK! GOPHER IN A SHOEBOX!
