Fitness stuff

So today I ordered some whey protein to help my puny muscles recover after a weights sesh, and four 5kg plates for my bar (I already have 2x10kg, 4x2.5kg, 4x1.25kg and 4x0.5kg).

I sort of gave myself a training programme based on this badboy. I'm benching 40kg, 8 reps, 3 sets with a 60 second break between sets (40x8x3x60), and curling around 8.5x8x3x60 per arm, although I'm not sure what the dumbell bars weigh. Shoulder presses are the same. Yes yes, I realise that's probably not very much, but that's part of the reason I'm doing this - to get better! I still need to figure out my weight for squats - I'm not sure I did enough today 'cause my legs feel absolutely fine.

Of course, I've already broken my programme. I was supposed to do 4 different types of exercise and I ended up doing everything on the list, minus the lat pull-downs 'cause I don't have the equipment to do it.

My eating is all healthy too, with plenty of fruit and much less bad stuff than I used to eat. I also managed to go all week (only Sun - Thu, not weekends) without booze, which for me is a damn good achievement. I'm going for the same again this week, and I might even leave out the drinks on Friday.

The reason for this sudden obsession with toning myself up? There are several. I'm fed up of looking weedy, I wanna be a bit more beefcake for when summer finally arrives (probably in 2009), there's not much else to do living out here with the parents, staying in and NOT drinking will save me money, it'll get me fitter and I can be more like Brucie from GTA4 because he's awesome. Also, it's part of my ninja training. I don't want to get body-builder massive 'cause personally I don't think that looks nice, but if I could get toned up, that would be awesome.

And the reason for this post? My blog is a good place to keep track of my progress!

If I try to keep a diary, I'll forget to write it if I don't write straight after a session, but my arms are too shaky to write using an old fashioned pen. Typing is easy enough, plus it'll give me a reason to a) blog more and b) show off. Yay!

Does anyone know how I can get the lat pulls going on without an extra equipment?
