Healthy May update 1

Well, last weekend was bank holiday weekend. I had Friday as holiday (was supposed to have the previous Monday, but I forgot about it and came to work anyway. d'oh!) and Monday was the bank holiday so everyone got a day off. Awesome-o!

And how did I spend this extra get-healthy-you-fat-bastard time?

Tonsil-fucking-itis.

So I wasn't really in the mood to go out on the bike, or do weights. On the plus side, I could eat fuck all because it hurt too much when I swallowed. Doc said I should have gone to see him sooner, and if I'd have left it any longer I'd have developed an abcess on my throat. Nice!

However, I'm on penicillin now and it's just about cleared up. And, on the even-brighter side, I got an appointment with the stop-smoking lady while I was at the docs. Friday morning, I get a one-to-one session that will help me break this stupid addiction once and for all!

I did go out on Sunday afternoon though, for a few pints with Rob & Anwen. And then went out with my brother that night and got totally slaughtered. By the end of the night we'd moved on to drinking Absinthe, and we (3 of us) had an improvised rave on my parents' driveway at the end of the night.

Oh, I spent Monday in the pubs too. All day.

But I'm back at the healthy thing now. Yesterday I ran the regular bike route, and felt a little less knackered that I usually do. Awesomes. I'd like to go out on the bike again tonight, but I have youth work so I won't have time :( Still, there's always tomorrow night, and I have all next week off, so I can put in a shitload of extra work. And my cycle computer should be delivered by the end of the week so I can start recording proper mileages and stuff. FUCK ME, I AM AWESOME. And you all love me. It's true.
