Bugger, have been busy doing stuff and had totally forgot to get my pancakes on last night, if I recall my mythology right I think that means jesus is going to steal my telly.
Also london, that's exciting, doing anything fun there?
No, not at all! on Thursday I'm going to a conference on Digital Records Management. To relieve the boredom while I'm there, I might try to puke myself to death.
It would have been possible to travel there and back on the Thursday, but the company aren't willing to pay out the train fare for the early commute, so we have to go up Wednesday night and stay in a hotel instead. It's cheaper that way.
We're encouraged to travel by car because the government make so much money off our road & car tax.
They make it look like they're concerned about the environment by telling us to use public transport, and they put even larger taxes on the vehicles that pollute more, but they know the money they get from that will outweigh the money they lose from people getting smaller cars.
London is now a "low emissions zone" which means truck drivers could face a £200 fine for each day they travel through the city. This may deter some truck drivers, but most can't avoid having to drive through London, so they'll have to pay.
When Chris wants to visit, it would be cheaper for me to drive up to Scotland and pick him up, then drive him back home again afterwards, than it would be for him to get a return journey train ticket. It's that fucked up!

Which gives slight indications on how fucking expensive a train fare in England is.
It would actually be cheaper to drive to London, but they won't let us do that because our fuel claim would be too high. Welcome To The Stupids!
But you're right, train fares are fucking ridiculous over here :(
shouldn't be like that. One should be encouraged to travel by train. What about the environment?
