Inpiration?
With Linux installed, the opportunity to create my own web design company without worrying about software licensing costs has reared it's half-ugly, half-gorgeous head. The first step toward being my own boss / financial demise would be to create some sort of portfolio and follow it up with advertisements. Maybe a website would cover these two bases. Yes! A website with which to display my sexy peacock tail-feathers. That's right, check me out, I can design the shit you need.
But that's the problem. I can code the shit you need, certainly, but can I design it?
No.
I've never been good with art and design. My left brain is just fine with it's logical stuff, and my right brain can do the musical feats of which I demand it, but it's always let me down when trying to create visual interpretations of what crazy shit I have in my imagination. I can't create stuff from scratch.
I think I may have at least partially come up with a solution.
Stuff already exists, out there in the world, stuff that has varying hues that work together. Different colours that sit side-by-side and don't offend the eyeball (unlike my dress sense, or that time I told trystan's left cornea I thought it was a twat) and real life stuff that looks really good. Stuff like Sarah's awesomely colourful chicken stir-fry (which puts that fat lipped twat to shame) or the view from Rob's mum's bedroom. Honk.
So I've started taking pictures with my phone. Pictures of just about everything in an attempt to gain inspiration and resources with which I can fashion webs. I'm like a spider with a 2 megapixel photographic memory.
I need a new digital camera. I've lost my old one.
