I agree. Amazingly, this film would have been good even without the ninjas.
Not many other films can boast this.
I am perplexed by the recent trend to make a movie that comes out after the original movie but the events in the movie occurred prior to the original movie. What is next? A movie about a really mean baby shark called "Gums"? Crouching Cub, Hidden Dragonette"
I s'pose when you're writing a prequal it's really easy to ignore the shitness of the films that follow on, though I imagine to keep coninuety shitness must be hinted at
