*fan-fucking-tastic*

We have a consultant coming over tomorrow so I need to get .net pro installed on a laptop. Got the laptop, got the disks, started installing with service packs and all the other stuff. Five hours later, the install's done so all we need to do is remove the laptop from our main domain onto our testing domain.

During the mental install, there were worries about a fire in our server room. Lots of bad "something's burning" smells, and as I'm a fire warden here, I have to help out. So running around like headless chickens, the entire dept end up phoning electricians and air conditioning people to try and sort out where the smells are coming from.

Now I have to make the laptop leave the main domain. No problem, put it in it's own workgroup. The plan is to then log on as a local admin and join the test domain.

Local admin account is disabled. Apparently this is the default for security reasons... So we're completely locked out of the laptop and it's 3:30pm.

While the support guys start reformatting the now locked laptop, it's time to reinstall .net on a new laptop. What a fun day it's been so far!
