The guys at Penny Arcade are doing Child's Play again this year. It's a charity that donates toys, games, books and cash to children's hospitals.
If you're fucking amazing like I am, and you have a bit of money to spare, it'd be sexy as hell if you too could help out with donations.
There's also the Desert Bus For Hope event. The money raised from this also goes to Child's Play.
These guys are playing the most BORING GAME EVER INVENTED...
The objective of the game is to drive a bus from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada in real time at a maximum speed of 45mph, a feat that would take the player 8 hours of continuous play to complete, as the game cannot be paused. The bus contains no passengers, and there is no scenery or other cars on the road. The bus veers to the right slightly; as a result, it is impossible to tape down a button to go do something else and have the game end properly. If the bus veers off the road it will stall and be towed back to Tucson, also in real time. If the player makes it to Las Vegas, they will score exactly one point. The player then gets the option to make the return trip to Tucson—for another point (a decision they must make in a few seconds or the game ends).
Ryan and I completed the Allies chapter on RA3 tonight, which leaves only the Red Sun missions left to do. It's getting NAILS, and I don't think I'd be able to do it without the co-op help from Ryan.
At the end of the Allies chapter, Gemma Atkinson (yes! yes!) invites you back to her flat for "dinner", and you get to see her looking hot as fuck in a white dress with boobs and everything.
I'm hoping I can redeem the invitation IRL soon.

I'm not enjoying Conan as much as I should. Sure, it's an awesome game, but I've hardly teamed up with anyone yet and that's making the game much duller than it should be. Guild chat is quiet without headshopper and nahema and the rest of the crazy bastards, but I think the main problem is where the game starts you out in single player mode.
WoW had that sorted out. If you wanted to team up with a guildie, you could start alts and team up straight away. Conan requires you to get into Tortage before you can hook up with anyone, and as I've already played through that initial 30 minutes several times, I don't want to have to do it again on my own and then wait around for the other player to catch up (or indeed, have to rush to catch up with the other player). And then you still have to do the single player nighttime bits to advance past Tortage!
So, does anyone have a player around level 30 or 31 that wants to team up? Or am I going to get bored and maybe even go back to WoW, before I've even gotten to the real Conan content?
My WoW account ran out today and I'm not renewing it for now. I have other games to play, such as C&C Generals (Zero Hour ftw), Assassin's Creed, Penny Arcade Adventures and Age of Conan (should be delivered tomorrow, yay!)

I realised today why I suck so badly at C&C. It's not the tactics - I know which units to send against ze enemies, that bit's easy; and I'm not too bad at managing my resources - I can prioritise my unit / building creation well enough; but it's the fucking controls that screw me over. It takes me ages to find the right building, then start creating the correct units, then find the guys I want to move and move them to the right place, while trying to fend off an attack on the other side of the map, and grab a fucking chinook to transport some other little bastards to where they need to be.
Practice will get me there, I'm sure, but frustration gets in the way of that.
This is the case with many of the things I do. Playing guitar, going out on the bike. I know we can't instantly be great at what we try, but it'd be nice if I could find something with which I could be considered a natural.
As opposed to au naturelle. I've stopped doing that since the arrest.
After each dungeon you have to go back to the starting temple to find out where to go for the next one and, while not wishing to be confrontational, this aspect of the game can just fuck right off...
I haven't smoked for over three weeks now, and last night I cancelled my WoW account for the second time. Winners never quit... I'm obviously a loser but I like it down here in losertown. I have lots of friends from all walks of life. This one, here *point*, in particular, his name is Shmantastico and he eats herons.
